Harry Watson R.W.S (1871-1936)

The River, 1914

Watercolour and pencil

Watson taught life drawing in London and wrote a book on the subject: ‘Figure Drawing’, which was published in 1930. His very distinctive figures and landscapes have an idyllic, ethereal quality reminiscent both of the later pre-Raphaelites and of contemporaries, such as Charles Sims. Original frame and mount. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, 1914.
